Christmas projects, to me, should be jolly and colourful and make people smile. Which is why I love the North Pole Delivery Suite from Stampin’ Up!®

It was the perfect choice for my Christmas Craft Day last week, where guests had the opportunity to make lots of fun Christmas cards and 3D projects using Stampin’ Up!® products.

My craft days are very relaxed. Everyone receives a set of tutorials to work through at their own pace, choosing the projects they like best and ignoring the ones they don’t fancy. No waiting for others to catch up!

Four more ideas for Storybook Garden Patch bundle

 

Storybook Garden Patch is such a lovely Stampin’ Up!® bundle because it can be used for so many different occasions. It’s ideal for gardeners, for masculine cards, and for much more.

At my Spring Craft Day last weekend, we used it with the (now retired) Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper Bloom Impressions as that helped to keep costs down; savings which I could pass on to my guests.

Today I want to show you some of the remaining projects from the day.

Quick Christmas cards and last-minute treats with Humble Home from Stampin’ Up!®

 

There are two types of crafters in the Stampin’ Up!® world, I find. Those who have sorted all their Christmas projects and are now thinking ahead to 2025. And those like me.

I was convinced I had enough Christmas cards left from previous years and from this year’s events, but it turned out the box contained some 3D projects which were making it look fuller than it was.

What I DID have was quite a big pile of stamped and punched Humble Home houses which I’d made for some 3D treat boxes. However, while making them, I got distracted and stamped FAR more than I needed.

So I quickly set aside what I needed to make the required treat boxes – more on those later – and used the remaining house fronts on Stampin’ Up!® Note Cards and Envelopes to make REALLY simple cards.

Fun Christmas cracker tutorial

 

Today I have a Christmas gift idea using your Stampin’ Up!® cardstock and Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper. And if it looks familiar then I will remind you that there’s no such thing as a new idea... and certainly not in my head at the moment. We are having building work done and the stress and mess of it all has sapped my mojo.

But what is one of my best tips for a missing mojo? Remake something you’ve made before. In my defence, a quick glance through this blog shows me that it’s been three years since I last made this half cracker gift box for a Stampin’ Up!® Zoom class during the pandemic.

The recent Starter Kit offer attracted lots of people into my Stampin’ Up!® team, so I thought it was time to send them a proper welcome pack. 

 

I wanted to use the gorgeous Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper because I love it so much. Happily, this is now back in stock in the Europe warehouse and even more happily, this item will be carrying over beyond the end of the year.

I didn’t have a lot of this paper to spare, especially when making multiples, but my three projects show how a little paper can go a long way... and in the end, thanks to frugal cutting, I even had some leftovers.

Winter Meadow projects inspired by November mood board

 

Kickstart your Christmas creativity with my November mood board. There’s enough inspiration on this board to help you create all kinds of projects, and I used it as my starting point for several Stampin’ Up!® projects using Grassy Grove, the Christmas Classics bundle and Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper. 

 

But first, how to use a mood board. It’s simple: just take inspiration from any or some of the photos and colours. 

 

In this board, the colours are Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake and Lemon Lolly. 

 

There are no hard and fast rules so you can add extra colours, use the nearest you have, or ignore the colours and simply be inspired by one or more of the images.

Eight projects using the Dainty Delight bundle from Stampin' Up!®

Saturday was my long-awaited Spring Craft Day – a day of creating beautiful projects using the Dainty Delight bundle and the now-retired Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper.

All through Sale-a-Bration, I used my rewards for this gorgeous paper so I would have enough for everyone to receive half a pack in their kit. Anyone who upgraded to include the bundle received a full pack.

And I was really glad I’d been hoarding it because by the time I came to place my final order, the paper had all gone and I couldn’t order any for the late bookers. Luckily I had just enough for everyone.

I often say that I don’t like flower stamps but it’s not really true; I don’t like most flower stamps. The big, blowsy flowers that are so popular with crafters everywhere do nothing for me at all, but I really love delicate wildflowers that remind me of our British countryside. And seed heads – they are a favourite.

Every year I try to create a Christmas decoration from my Stampin’ Up!® supplies and this year is no exception, with this delicate white and gold heart ornament. 

Vintage-inspired Tea Boutique projects

Stampin’ Up!® products are not just for cardmaking and my customers had asked if they could decorate a notebook at our all-day Craft-Tea Day Out on Saturday.

I aim to please so came up with this lovely vintage-inspired design using the Cup of Tea Bundle and Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper. I wanted to show the versatility of the Tea Boutique paper by highlighting the more subtle designs on the reverse.

Last-minute Christmas gift projects – with free tutorial

It’s around about this time of year that I begin to lose interest in Christmas projects and get anxious to start crafting with my new Stampin’ Up!® supplies. But there are still Christmas gifts, decorations and more to be made so for my penultimate craft class of the year we made a gift card holder and a couple of packages for tiny gifts. 

 

All of these projects can be made from one sheet of Stampin’ Up!® Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper (or any other designs of your choice). 

 

 

We began by making the bauble/gift holder which can be made from any size square but I went with 7" (17.8cm) to allow enough leftovers to fit the gift card holder.

This is far simpler than it looks and requires no cutting, measuring or special tools. I used this tutorial by Aussie demonstrator Fiona Bradley. 

 

 

The only thing I changed from Fiona’s tutorial was to punch my corner holes after the first two folds – it’s way easier to do this when the paper is still flat. Punch through both layers when the paper is folded corner to corner, then repeat on the other two corners. 

 

We held our baubles together using Simply Elegant Trim and decorated with a gift tag made with the Seasonal Labels Dies and coordinating Christmas Season stamp set. 

 

The card is a square one made to fit some 13cm (5") envelopes from my stash. All the pieces of Designer Series Paper you need can be cut out of the remaining sheet you used for the bauble.

 Make sure any decorations you add to the front of the small square don’t overhang on the left or this will make the card difficult to open.  

 

Inside the right flap you can stick a piece of Designer Series Paper and there is just enough room for a credit card-sized gift card... if you don’t apply adhesive on the right hand side. 

 

With our leftover pieces we decorated these little Simply Classic Treat Boxes, which are ideal for table gifts or for packaging something small such as jewellery. You could even hang them on the Christmas tree filled with chocolates.

 

There wasn't a long enough strip of Designer Series Paper left to go around the whole box so I cut two 3.5cm wide strips and joined them. Once the gold trim and decorations are added you can’t see the joins.

I hope these projects have inspired you to make some last-minute festive packaging. They are a great way to use up any leftovers – and don’t feel you have to hoard this pack of paper as it is only going into hibernation. The Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper will not be available from 4th January but will return in July 2022. 

The Christmas Season stamp set and Seasonal Labels Dies are both carrying over into the new year, although will not be available as a bundle from 4th January. So if you want to make your 10% saving, I suggest you order before then. They have proved to be my most-used Christmas stamps this year and the dies will prove useful all year round.

Painted Season gift projects – with FREE tutorials

Some of you are way more organised than me and already have your Christmas cards made – and perhaps even written them. Therefore, your thoughts will be turning to gift packaging. 

I made these gift wrap ideas using the beautiful Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!®. 

 

As you may guess from the fact that pine cones feature in all of my project photos, this Suite is absolutely right up my street – the designs, the colours, everything. Finally, those pine cones make sense!

 

The large bag is a great design which I borrowed from UK Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator Julie Kettlewell at The Paper Haven. 

 

 

 

It requires two full sheets of 12x12 Designer Series Paper but produces a bag which is big enough for a book or box of chocolates. Hopefully the recipient will like the bag enough to use it again next year, too.

I decorated the bag with a gift tag made using the Christmas Season bundle. 

The tag can be as simple or as detailed as you like. I love the pine cones (obviously) so stamped these onto Crumb Cake cardstock to really make them stand out.

 

The half-cracker gift box is a brilliant little design which can be used as novelty gift packaging or as table crackers which can be used year after year. 

 

 

Regular readers with good memories will recall I made this half cracker gift box last year, too but it’s such a good little box that I wanted to repeat it at an event this year using this gorgeous Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper... after first checking that none of this year’s ladies had attended last year, of course!

Again, I made a gift tag using the Christmas Season stamp set and Seasonal Labels dies, which are available as a bundle. This time I used a smaller label die and the smaller of the two pine cones from the set.

I had two packs of this beautiful Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper which enabled me to create a matching cracker box to go with each bag. But if you mix and match they look beautiful, too.

Kraft gift box with Peaceful Cabin bundle

Do you like to escape to the wop-wops? I learned this wonderful new word the other week, courtesy of New Zealand demonstrator Julie Burt, who commented on my previous Peaceful Cabin projects and explained that it means "the middle of nowhere".

The Peaceful Cabin bundle from Stampin' Up!® Mini Catalogue is one of my favourites – I know, big surprise, eh? You may have gathered from the pine cones that appear in all of my photos that I love woodlands and escaping to the wop-wops in general, although these days a café and a toilet nearby are always welcomed.

 

I also love the look of Kraft cardstock – which again appeals to my love of all things natural – so these Kraft gift boxes went straight onto my order from the Mini Catalogue. They are food safe so good for biscuits or cookies, and could also be used for a couple of pairs of socks, some jewellery, chocolate or other small gifts. 

 

The window aperture allows you to see the contents but I liked the idea of creating a window onto the woods, so stamped this serene scene using the Peaceful Cabin stamp set and the coordinating Cabin Dies. 

I began by embossing a piece of Old Olive cardstock with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder, then swiping over the trees with a Whisper White ink pad. 

 

I coloured the cabin using Stampin’ Blends, giving the wood a greenish hue using a mix of brown and green markers, and a bright red roof. This reminds me of a lovely cottage I saw in Nethy Bridge in the Cairngorms in Scotland. There’s a Scandinavian vibe to parts of the village and I wanted to echo this in my project. I mounted the die-cut cabin onto the embossed Old Olive panel and positioned them behind the window.

Whisper White ink is craft ink, so sits on the surface of the cardstock instead of soaking in which allows the white to show up but also means it takes a while to dry. Therefore, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to distance it from the window sheet and minimise the chance of it rubbing off onto the acetate. 

 

Around the window I stamped some tiny snowflakes in Whisper White, using a sticky note as a mask. On the top, on the outside of the window panel, I stuck some die-cut trees, which I swiped with white ink.

To finish off I tied up the box using some gold Simply Elegant Trim and a small greeting label stamped in Real Red. This label is created with the Rectangular Postage stamp punch. To make it smaller, I simply mounted my punched rectangle onto a sticky note to make it big enough to handle, then punched again to fit the greeting.

Three 3D projects using the Boho Indigo Product Medley Refill Kit

I’m back with some more Boho Indigo projects. Did you know, the Boho Indigo Product Medley was the top-selling kit in the UK last week? And the Boho Indigo Product Medley Refill took the second slot! That’s no April Fool and neither is the fact that these amazing kits are only available while supplies last!

I am not surprised they are so popular as they are absolutely beautiful and I can only hope they have not sold out by the time you read this.

As part of our Zoom class on Saturday, we made several cards which you can see here and some 3D projects.

 

We began with the covered wooden heart ornament, which would make a lovely home décor item or gift tag. How about using it as a bottle tag?

It’s pretty simple; you just draw around the heart on the back of your chosen Designer Series Paper, cut it out with scissors, apply adhesive all over and stick to the heart. Trim off any excess paper with scissors then sand/file the edges so the paper sits smoothly and neatly.

We decorated it with paper flowers, using three different methods to create them. 

 

One is simply cut from the Designer Series Paper three times then layered up, offsetting each layer slightly to create the appearance of more petals. 

The second is punched using the Small Bloom Punch, which is currently reduced to £7.20 and only available while supplies last. We punched three flowers from Very Vanilla, then a fourth from Misty Moonlight. This blue one was snipped using scissors to create a fringe effect and scrunched up before adding it to the stack. Once they are stuck together you can snip the ends of the blue petals a little more if they appear too large, then top off with a Basic Rhinestone or other embellishment. 

 

The third flower is create from a roll of Designer Series Paper. These can be made from a square of any size, but we found about 6.5cm (just bigger than 2.5in) was about right. 

 

1. From the square of Designer Series Paper, cut a spiral leaving a disc at the centre about the size of a 5p coin.

2. Freehand cut a wavy line close to the outside edge until you get to the centre. Discard the smaller, narrower piece.

3. Starting from the pointy end, roll the paper to create your flower, using the centre disc as the base. Seal with wet glue or a hot glue gun. If using wet clue, you do have to sit and hold it for quite a while but I still find that easier than hot glue for such a small item. 

We made a few flowers at this point and held one back for this lovely Acetate box to hold our cards. These C6 Acetate Card Boxes are carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue, I'm delighted to say.

The box is decorated using two strips of embossed cardstock, joined together to make one long enough to go round the width of the acetate box. There is one join at the back and the other is at the front, but covered by the tall leaf and other embellishments.

 

The third 3D project is this really simple pouch which again can be made from any size square. It’s really easy to make and Dawn Olchefske has an excellent picture tutorial here.

In my class everyone received half of a refill kit and were impressed at just how much there was in it. A full refill kit, or the full medley, will enable you make dozens of beautiful projects.

I honestly cannot recommend these products highly enough. I don’t usually do the “hard sell” because I personally find it off-putting and also appreciate that everyone has different tastes, but these are truly beautiful products and right now the The Boho Indigo Product Medley is reduced to £39, making it a fabulous bargain. For this price you receive stamps, dies, ribbons, papers, label/image sheets and embellishments.
