Storybook Garden Patch is such a lovely Stampin’ Up!® bundle because it can be used for so many different occasions. It’s ideal for gardeners, for masculine cards, and for much more.
At my Spring Craft Day last weekend, we used it with the (now retired) Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper Bloom Impressions as that helped to keep costs down; savings which I could pass on to my guests.
You’ve already seen three of the projects; two of them here and another of them here.
Today I want to show you some of the remaining projects from the day.
First up is this very simple but very effective thank you card for a gardener. It’s a simple Thick Basic White card base with four Storybook Garden Patch (164667) images stamped, coloured, die-cut and popped up on Dimensionals.
I used the peas, strawberries, cabbage – although there was much debate about this being a lettuce at one of my classes using this set – and watering can. For this card I coloured the images using Watercolour Pencils and blender pens. I love the bright red of the watering can picking up the red of the strawberries.
The sentiment comes from Simply Said (163756) which is a really useful Stampin’ Up!® stamp set featuring plain and simple greetings.
Next I have a birthday card which is ideal for a gardener. I have die-cut the mount from Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper but you could easily just use cardstock. This paper is Shy Shamrock so I used the same colour cardstock for the mat.
I stamped, die-cut and coloured a watering can, two carrots, a fork and a beetroot from the Storybook Garden Patch stamp set. For this project, I used ink pads and blender pens to colour my images. This meant I could colour the leaves using Shy Shamrock to match the paper.
The greeting on this card comes from With You in Mind (164747), a fabulous stamp set which is well worth adding to your craft stash.
Sticking with the Shy Shamrock colour theme, I created a little trug of vegetables for this card. I stamped two carrots, a beetroot, the trug and trowel, then coloured them in this time using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
I arranged them all on a punched circle, on top of a strip of Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper. This is the reverse of the watercolour-style paper in the background.
The sentiment once again comes from Simply Said. I stamped it in one piece then carefully trimmed it apart to create two lines of words.
Finally, we have a Book Treat box containing two guest soaps. The fit is perfect!
I covered the whole of the outer using the blue paper from Bloom Impressions.
Because I wanted the closure flap to be on the back of the box, I assembled the box slightly differently. The tray is actually secured to what would normally be the inside front of the box. This left two adhesive strips showing, so I covered this layer with some floral purple paper.
I echoed this paper all around the edges of the tray then, to bring it all together, I made sure to include some purple in my main image on the front of the box. In this case it was another beetroot, stacked up against a flowerpot with some peas and a garden fork. All of these images are coloured using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
They are layered onto white cardstock, which has a layer of purple Designer Series Paper beneath. The sentiment comes from Terrific Toadstools (164790).
I hope you like my Storybook Garden Patch projects. This is a gorgeous design, available as separate stamps and dies, or as a money-saving bundle, from my store at helenread.stampinup.net.
