Cards and scrapbook inspiration using Heirloom Arrangements

When I saw the Heirloom Arrangements kit (165007) from Stampin’ Up!® I knew it had so many possibilities that I had to have it. The cards are gorgeous but I knew I wanted to make a scrapbook page too. So read on to see two cards and a scrapbook page made from this versatile kit – and none of them follow any instructions.

While all Stampin’ Up!® kits offer adaptability, they are largely designed to be made up according to the instructions. Heirloom Arrangements, however, has been specifically designed to give you options.

There are instructions for two cards, then images of six others to inspire you. The cards were a little busy for my tastes so I decided simply to go my own way.

The first card is a Hello card as I find these are really useful to have on hand.

I pressed out the black and white frame then added a piece of Basic White cardstock behind to take the greeting. The stamp comes from Everyday Greetings (165084) which is currently half price on the Stampin’ Up!® Last Chance List.

I stamped using the Pecan Pie ink spot which comes with the kit. Yes, there are greeting panels and a cute little stamp set in the kit, but the words I wanted to use wouldn't fit the panels so I decided to adapt.

I popped this up on Dimensionals then began adding various die-cut elements. What I love about the Heirloom Arrangements kit is the variety it offers. There are die-cut flowers, labels, butterflies, leaves and vintage ephemera; some on white cardstock and others on beautiful vellum.

My second card is a Thinking of You card as sadly I have needed a lot of these lately so need to replenish my supply. The panel is the die-cut piece which is left when you press out the black and white frame used on the first card.

This time I stamped Thinking of You in Pecan Pie using the Stampin’ Up!® stamp set, Simply Said (163756).

Once again I layered up some flowers and leaves from the Heirloom Arrangements Kit to make a really quick and easy card.

Now I’d had my cardmaking fix, I turned to a scrapbook page.

I used the Everyday You & Me Two-Tone Cardstock Pack (166631) from the current Stampin’ Up!® scrapbooking brochure. This pack includes 12x12 cardstock in Pecan Pie and Very Vanilla, among others. These two colours were perfect to go with the vintage look of the page.

I took inspiration for my layout from this beautiful page by Brenda Nelson.

I trimmed the Very Vanilla cardstock to leave a border. Don’t ask for measurements please, I always just wing it.

I used a second piece of Pecan Pie to create a mat for my 6"x4" photo which is a lovely picture of my mum with her great-granddaughter. There's a 90-year age gap between these two ladies!

Next I began tucking in pieces around it. The blue panel on the left is a card front from the Heirloom Arrangements Kit, while the pink panel on the right is one of the die-cut pieces, trimmed down.

In fact, almost all the elements come from Heirloom Arrangements. All I added was a circle of Very Vanilla cardstock for the journalling that will come later, and a strip of Very Vanilla for the title. This is stamped with the now retired Sale-a-Bration stamp set Documenting the Day.

It includes a BIG stamp which says "Day" but I didn't want to dominate the page, so used a Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up just the word "Day" from Everyday Greetings (165084).

The result, I think is a lovely vintage-look Heirloom Arrangements scrapbook page which is suitable for many occasions.
