Monochromatic card ideas using Stampin Up!’s Cheerful Daisies stamp set

I make no apology for using the new Stampin’ Up!® stamp set Cheerful Daisies again... no doubt this won’t be the last you see of it either!

It’s a really beautiful stamp set, featuring two-step stamps so you can add colour and texture really easily.

Today’s projects are all monochromatic cards using two of our gorgeous new Stampin' Up!® In Colors; Boho Blue and Moody Mauve.

While I love them all, I do accept that this year’s colours are definitely “Marmite” colours as we’d say here in the UK. In other words, you’ll love them or hate them. But even people who aren’t sure about the collection as a whole cannot possibly dislike Boho Blue and Moody Mauve.

I have three cards to show you; the simpler ones were the Make & Takes at my recent Stampin’ Up!® catalogue launch party. Half of the room made a Boho Blue card and the other half made the same card in Moody Mauve... purely because I didn’t have enough Designer Series Paper to go round.

The card design is pretty simple; just a strip of 2023-2025 In Color Designer Series Paper at the bottom, with a flower, some die-cut sprigs and a greeting label. There’s no ribbon or embellishments but I think it’s enough.

This is a card design you can use over and over again with many different Stampin’ Up!® products. A strip of paper, a white panel, a main element of a flower or other image, something spriggy and a greeting label.

While this is a two-step stamp set, I chose to use it as a traditional outline stamp set instead. I stamped the outline of the daisy and then used a Blender Pen and ink from the ink pad lid to colour in the image very lightly.

You can also use the inner stamps on their own for really bold splashes of colour, as I did for these projects a couple of weeks ago.

If you wanted to step this card design up a little, you could add an embossed layer – I used the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder from Stampin’ Up!® – and a strip of Boho Blue ribbon. I didn’t tie a bow as this ribbon is quite thick and bows become very bulky.

Both of these cards are perfect examples of a monochromatic design and just the sort of idea I send to people who purchase my Colour Club kit.

Join the July Colour Club here

This is a no-commitment club; you can hop in and out at any time – and you can even choose the colour. You will receive an ink pad, six sheets of cardstock, 1m of ribbon and two 6"x6" pieces of Designer Series Paper, all in your chosen colour.

The Designer Series Paper will be a mystery design, but it will feature your colour. On top of this you will receive a PDF with instructions for two monochromatic projects, plus any extra supplies required to make these designs.

The cost is just £20 for one colour, or £35 for two, which includes postage to anywhere in the UK.
