Hello there!

Here’s another card using the oh-so-versatile Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. It’s a similar concept to this card but “faked” – in other words, the scalloped tag pieces are stuck on rather than forming part of the main card base. The Coastal Cabana tag is scored and adhered behind the Whisper White layer, while the Whisper White tag is simply popped up on Dimensionals. It would have looked nice scored and stuck behind the polka dot layer but you can’t turn back time, eh?

If you’d like a play with this versatile punch, why not book a party or come along to one of my events? It’s sure to be making an appearance at Christmas in June, booking for which is now open (and filling fast!). Please click here to register.

In other news, today we have a new set of Weekly Deals for your delectation. Check out my online store to view them properly and place an order.

And finally, I am currently taking names for my next Virtual Hostess Club. Again, places are filling fast, so don’t delay – drop me a line if you’d like more information or to claim your spot!

Tutorial: Scallop Tag Topper punch tied card

This card is not as tricky as it looks and, the first time I tried to make one, I was seriously overcomplicating things! So, just in case you’re having the same trouble that I was, take a look at the tutorial below to see how simple it really is...

1. Start with a standard card blank, unscored. Carefully feed one of the short edges into the punch. Line it up to the far edge of the punch base and it will save you having to measure anything

2. Repeat on the opposite side, again lining up against the punch base so that your punch is the same distance from the base of the card as before

3. Trim off the excess cardstock

4. Score the protruding flap on the right-hand side, following the edge of the cardstock

5. Now you will have to measure. I’ve made my card 10.5cm wide to fit our standard C6 envelopes. Score at this point and then fold the front flap over to create your basic card.

6. Decorate as you wish and tie together with some ribbon or thread.

Scallop Tag Topper punch - smile card

The scallop tag topper punch is so versatile – here I’ve used it to create a ribbon slider tag for a very simple card. I’ve used the clean bright colours of the Fresh Prints DSP stack and added a couple of wooden elements for good measure.

Simple smile

I made this really simple card last night. It didn’t go quite as I’d planned but, as they say, once it’s stuck, you’re out of luck! It uses some of my favourite products… the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, the Fresh Prints DSP stack and those cute little wooden elements. And I love this colour combo, too - it’s Soft Sky and Real Red. It’s a combination which works well for many occasions, including Christmas!

Gift pouch

A little gift for my friend Alison. It seems that she always forgets her toothbrush when we go away, so has to dash out to a corner shop to find out. We are away together this weekend, on a crafting retreat in the middle of nowhere, so inside this cute little package is a travel toothbrush and toothpaste set that she can keep in her washbag for all time.

I started with the kit, laying it out on my grid paper to get measurements, then created a Crumb Cake pouch to fit. Another pouch, in Real Red, fits on the end, covered with a paper doily and embellished with some DSP, a little stamping and some gold sequins left over from my Mini Memories album kit, but you could use the Gold Sequin Trim instead, cut up.
