Blooms & Wishes gift pack for a special silver celebration

I am very proud of my team member, Sue, who has just promoted to Silver! I may not be Sue’s direct upline but I’ve pledged to be better at celebrating my team members’ achievements so popped a little packet of Rhinestones in the post for her, with a matching card.

I used flowers – because Sue LOVES flowers – and a splash of silver to mark the occasion.

Pedal Pusher CASE with Love Blossoms DSP

This was the Make & Take at Friday’s party, showcasing the lovely Pedal Pusher stamp set, and the beautiful Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack. I totally CASEd this project from the Stampin’ Up!® video about this stamp set; but that’s exactly what those ideas are for... to give us lesser mortals great ideas! I love the angled layer, that’s something a bit different for me.

This stamp set can be yours FREE with a £45 order, but only until the end of March. After that it will no longer be available - eek!

Life's Adventure... moving home

This is a really cute stamp set and I have wavered over getting it for a while now. It’s a hostess set, so you need to hold a party or place a qualifying order to earn it.

Fortunately, while stamping with a friend the other week, I discovered that she had the set so I stamped out a house in readiness for another friend’s house move.

I’ve been making a lot of really simple cards lately, so decided to put a little bit more detail (effort?) into this one, and incorporated my last remaining paper doily (must get some more of those), some DSP and the very cute Chalk Lines stamp set.

Colouring was really easy with the Blendabilities. They’re so much fun to use - have you tried them yet?

Flower Shop and Hardwood

Happy Easter everyone! I don’t send Easter cards but, if I did, this would be work well I think… with a different sentiment of course.

I’ve just taken delivery of the Hardwood stamp set after resisting for so long. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I have lots of plans for it. Here I’ve inked the edges of the cardstock layer for extra depth, and added some Gorgeous Grunge speckles, too, just because I love them.

I’m taking a week’s break for Easter now, but will schedule a few posts to keep you going over the next week. If you need any urgent SU supplies, don’t forget you can order from my online store any time!

Watercolour effect with Springtime Hello

The second watercolour technique we tried at Friday’s class was using a more traditional method. For this card we simply painted three stripes of colour across some watercolour paper.

Some of us used Aquapainters, while others used a paintbrush; it’s all down to preference. And, of course, we used Stampin’ Up!® reinkers for our “paint”. Do experiment though, as I’ve found that some of the richer blues break up when you try to paint with them. Here we used Old Olive (of course), Summer Starfruit and Coastal Cabana.

Once they were dry (speeded up with the heat gun), we stamped over the top in Black Stazon and spritzed with the Smooch Spritz. The ribbon effect is easy to achieve with seam-binding ribbon. Simply fray one end and find a single strand around the centre, then pull on this while ruffling the ribbon. Very effective.

The card base is made from Shimmery White for extra shimmer and stability, as it’s a heavier weight than our Whisper White.

I’ve had a busy weekend. On Sunday I was at Broomfield Hall all day, promoting Stampin’ Up!® and meeting lots of ladies who expressed an interest in cardmaking. I hope to meet them again at a class or event soon!

And last night I was at the Roundhouse in Derby, to discuss an exciting new event called Art In The Round. This will take place on May 3rd and 4th and involve dozens of artists getting together to display and sell their work, as well as some of them (including me) offering “have a go” workshops. I’ll post more about this event nearer the time.
