Weekly Deals

Oops is it Wednesday already? Nearly Thursday in fact? That’s because I’m off work this week so time is flying and I have no idea what day it is!

We’ve not gone away, just spending time doing odd jobs and odd trips out. So far we’ve done Bakewell Market (and the lovely Lavender Tea Rooms (if you’re ever in Bakewell, do go – it has to be seen to be appreciated), a trip into Derby for art supplies for my daughter and today, excitement of the week, shoe shopping. I have bought some rather unpleasant-looking trainers which I am assured will be far more supportive for my plantar fasciitis-ridden feet and, in time, help to make the pain go away. Fingers (but not toes) crossed!

So that’s how it happened to be Wednesday evening already. It’s a bit late in the day for a project, so here are the Weekly Deals and come back tomorrow morning for a masculine card. If I had to choose just one item from this week’s Deals, I’d go for that Hexagon Thinlits Die as I’ve seen some really cool projects made with it.

Weekly Deals and Clearance Rack

It’s raining then... just a bit! A perfect day for battening down the hatches and doing some serious crafting... or going to work, depending on your schedule.  I’ll be doing the latter, and thanking my lucky stars that I’m not doing my daughter’s job, as she is spending the week dog walking at a local boarding kennels.

A more popular rainy day activity is a bit of internet shopping and what better time as today sees the release of the last Weekly Deals ... for now at least. (Seriously, I don’t have any inside info, just covering my back!)

Take a look at the deals, then check out the Clearance Rack. Some of the Clearance items have sold out already, which is disappointing as I was hoping to stock up for my Christmas in June workshop. Hello there!

Here’s another card using the oh-so-versatile Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. It’s a similar concept to this card but “faked” – in other words, the scalloped tag pieces are stuck on rather than forming part of the main card base. The Coastal Cabana tag is scored and adhered behind the Whisper White layer, while the Whisper White tag is simply popped up on Dimensionals. It would have looked nice scored and stuck behind the polka dot layer but you can’t turn back time, eh?

Project Life 

There was another exciting announcement recently, which I haven’t yet managed to share with you.  Stampin’ Up!® has teamed up with the very talented Becky Higgins to offer Project Life!

If that means nothing to you, let me explain that Becky Higgins is a successful scrapbooker who has made a business from her love of crafting. After realising that many of us are too busy to scrapbook, she developed a concept called Project Life. This consists of scrapbook sleeves with pockets, into which you simply slide your photos, journalling or decorated cardstock.

Stampin’ Up!® will be selling everything you need for Project Life, with all the benefits of SU co-ordination and colours!

Project Life is perfect for scrappers of all abilities. For complete beginners you can buy kits which mean you only have to add words and photos. If you fancy more of a challenge you can either decorate the pieces in the kits further, or create your own panels to slide into the pockets. This means it really is just like making a few cards… far less daunting than a 12x12 page!

Project Life is coming in the new catalogue, out 1st July, but we are all getting the chance to purchase selected items early. Watch this space for details. Meanwhile, check out the video giving more information – just ignore the dates mentioned as they are for the US/Canadian market only.

This week’s Weekly Deals are here! And I have to say I’m tempted by a lot of these products. Both of the Designer Series Paper packs are gorgeous. The Crisp Cantaloupe Ribbon is beautiful – and, if you’re not a pastels fan, try teaming it with Early Espresso. Silver Glimmer paper has rapidly become a staple item; just a hint of it will add glamour to any project. I could go on, but I have to go to work!
