Do you struggle to put Stampin’ Up!® colours together? Do you wish you could find new and exciting colour combinations? I know some people don't feel confident putting different Stampin’ Up!® colours together, so as I’m having a week off from crafting, here are some tips – and 10 fabulous autumn colour combinations using your favourite Stampin’ Up!® colours.
Colour inspiration is all around us and, if you are into Stampin’ Up!®, there are some REALLY easy ways to make sure you colours go together beautifully.
Check out these foolproof tips:
1. Pick a Stampin’ Up!® colour collection and stick to it
Whether that’s Brights, Subtles, Regals, Neutrals or any of the In Colors, the colours within each collection area always are always designed to go together.
2. Choose a Stampin’ Up!® Designer Series Paper
All of our Designer Series Papers are made up of a beautiful colour combination. Some of them are quite surprising, but they always work together well. Some designs some feature very many colours but you can always pick three or four for your project, confident that the colours will coordinate.
3. Look around you
Everywhere I look, I see Stampin’ Up!® colours. This could be a photograph, a dress in a shop, some flowers in the garden, a picture on a wall, a sheet of wrapping paper. Inspiration is everywhere and you can match the colours you see to the nearest Stampin’ Up!® colour.
4. Do a Google image search
But here’s the best tip: translate the colour into a more generic term. For example, if you want to use Shy Shamrock in a project, you can search “Shy Shamrock Stampin Up” but you may get better results if you search “Emerald green colour combination”.
5. Leave it to the experts
Here’s a great new way of getting the best out of our Stampin’ Up!® colours. Coming soon is a brand new Color Coach! Available from 5th November, the Color Coach (166481) helps you find monochromatic, complementary, analogous and triadic colour combinations. Sounds complicated? All those concepts are explained on the back
And now, as promised, here are 10 fabulous autumn colour combinations using the latest Stampin’ Up!® colours.
Autumn means fabulous fungi and I love this image of a plate of toadstools, autumn leaves and pine cones. You know I love pine cones! This gives us a gorgeously rich Stampin’ Up!® colour combo of Shy Shamrock, Wild Wheat, Cajun Craze and deep Early Espresso.
Moody Mauve is one of my favourite Stampin’ Up!® In Colors™ from 2023-2025 and I love how it provides a backdrop here for these spectacular... er, anthurium plants, apparently! This photos gives us the warm Stampin’ Up!® colour combo of Moody Mauve, Wild Wheat, Calypso Coral and Cherry Cobbler.
I love jays and it’s rare to get such a great view of their stunning wing feathers. This photo, with its Peach Pie background, gives us another lovely autumnal Stampin’ Up!® colour combination. This time it’s Peach Pie, Moody Mauve, Azure Afternoon and Night of Navy.
Not such an autumnal subject for the photo but a fabulous Stampin’ Up!® colour combo for autumn nonetheless. The bright aqua of Summer Splash provides a lift to the rich earthy tones of Pecan Pie, Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake. Love it!
Pineapples? For autumn? Why not? The Wild Wheat and Mossy Meadow of the pineapple skin give this combo its autumn vibe, while Berry Burst and Petunia Pop give it a lift to brighten up those dull autumn days.
Hmmm.... cake. A selection of Stampin’ Up!® browns, with some light and bright thrown in make a colour combination that’s good enough to eat. Peach Pie, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake and Basic Beige.
This is one of my favourite Stampin’ Up!® autumnal colour combinations. I love Old Olive – always have, always will – and I think Cajun Craze is vastly underrated. Pool Party is one of my most-used colours, and I love the understated Lost Lagoon. Put them all together and I think you have a winner.
This Stampin’ Up!® colour combination was inspired by my quest for the perfect duck egg blue for my hallway. It’s now painted but I still don’t love it and suspect it will be repainted in sage green by next year.
Having said that, I do love this egg-inspired colour combination of Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso.
You can’t feature autumn colour combinations without at least one leaf photo, so here it is. Pool Party is here again – in the bright autumnal sky – with some vibrant leaf colours: Copper Clay, Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade.
Finally, if autumn makes you want to hibernate with a roaring fire and a good book, then this Stampin’ Up!® colour combination is for you. Bright Daffodil Delight is teamed with warm Pumpkin Pie and Copper Clay, with some Early Espresso to bring in that autumn depth. I love this one, and hope you do too!
I hope you enjoyed these 10 autumn colour combinations and will save the page, pin the images and most of all USE the combos in your Stampin’ Up!® projects. If you do use any of the combos, please tag me @allthingsstampy on Facebook or Instagram, and I will share your project to my stories.
