Do you love otters? Who doesn’t, right? I was so excited to see the new Otterly Adorable Suite Collection in the Stampin’ Up!® Online Exclusives Collection. This is available to demonstrators to pre-order now, and goes live to customers on 5th November 2024.

The Otterly Adorable Suite Collection from Stampin’ Up!® comprises the Otterly Amazing bundle of stamps and dies, Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper, Lost Lagoon Soft Cording and Riverside Irregular Pearls.

I used the bundle and Designer Series Paper to create a 12x12" scrapbook page and a card.

The papers in the Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper pack are gorgeous, and feature a mix of watery patterns, fish, pond weeds and of course otters. The great news is that many of the otters can be die-cut from the paper using the Otterly Amazing dies.

These Stampin’ Up!® dies also feature some fun weeds, rocks and more.

Because I know many cardmakers are a little scared of 12x12 scrapbooking, I wanted to show you how the same design can be used for both a card and page.

For the card, I used some strips of Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper to create a casual background, with torn edges.

A punched circle creates the focal point, decorated with a stamped and die-cut otter. This is coloured in using Stampin’ Blends in skin tones and ivory.

The weeds are die-cut using Otterly Amazing dies on Pretty Peacock cardstock and also on white cardstock which I had coloured at random using various green Stampin’ Blends. I scribbled on white cardstock scraps to give the weeds a more natural look.

I did the same on some Smoky Slate cardstock with a couple of grey Stampin’ Blends – just some random scribbling which meant when I die-cut the rocks, they had a more natural look to them.

Finally I stamped “You are otterly amazing” on the circle to finish off my project.

As you can see from this 12x12" scrapbook page, I have used roughly the same design but on a larger scale.

I began by laying my elements out roughly on some new Two-Tone 12x12" in Pool Party. I’ve used the paler side, as you can see from the first photo of the two projects together.

Once I had everything in position, I took this rough snap on my phone as a reminder. Trust me; once you start moving things to add glue, you will forget where they are supposed to go! I do this for any collage-style layout, whether for a scrapbook page or a card.

As before, I began with three strips of Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper, each torn at the right-hand edge.

On top of this I placed a 6x6" photo, matted on to Pretty Peacock and Old Olive cardstock.

The title is die-cut using Mini Alphabet Dies (162934). I love that the entire alphabet is one die, which means you get at least one of each letter. This is also why I have used two colours for my title – I needed a second B but already had one in Early Espresso. Rather than die-cut again, I used what I already had and made a feature of it, tying in the browns of the otters around the edges of the page.

The journalling panel – yet to be filled in – is an old Memories & More card which is perfect for the job. I carefully tore the edge to match the Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper on the opposite side of the page.

Finally, I decorated the page with various otters. To show you the difference, this time I used otters die-cut from the Designer Series Paper, along with more leaves and rocks die-cut from cardstock.

I hope you like my Otterly Amazing projects and will add it to your Stampin’ Up!® wish list for 5th November. I also hope you will embrace 12x12" scrapbooking as it’s so rewarding. Not only is it a great way to get those photos out of your phone, but unlike when making a card, you get to keep what you make!
