14 ideas for Winterly Tree Tops – including a scrapbook page

Winterly Tree Tops Nests of Winter Stampin Up card ideas

Are you looking for ideas for the hugely versatile Nests of Winter Suite from Stampin’ Up!® This fabulous Suite includes the Winterly Tree Tops stamps and dies bundle, which was the basis for my Autumn Craft Day here in Derbyshire at the weekend.

Read on for 14 ideas for projects using the Winterly Tree Tops bundle and Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper.

In this post, there are six Christmas cards, six year-round cards, a little notebook and a 12x12 scrapbook page. At the class, guests could choose which projects to make – and choose from a Christmas or non-Christmas version of each card. Some of them made both versions.

Disclaimer: Some of these projects have been shown here before, but I have included them again so I can show them side by side with the Christmas/non-Christmas version. To see the original post with more ideas, please go here.

First up is this shiny Christmas card using Metallic Enamel Accents (in gold( as a background, with some bright red berries created with Pearlized Enamel Accents. I love the bright colours of this card, which is based on an original idea by a Stampin’ Up!® artist.

The non-Christmas version is closer to the Stampin’ Up!® original (which was actually a gift box), with its copper background and copper and gold berries. For this one, I have stamped Just a Note on Copper Clay cardstock.

This really simple Christmas card is a must if you love fussy-cutting, as the bird is cut out of the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper. There are SO many birds in this paper that you could make dozens of cards from one pack.

I’ve stamped Season’s Greetings from the Greetings of the Season Stampin’ Up!® Online Exclusive stamp set.

The non-Christmas version uses a different bird from the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper. This bird actually fits the Winterly Tree Tops dies so you could die-cut it or fussy cut it. It’s the same as the single bird stamp from the Winterly Tree Tops stamp set, so if you preferred, you could stamp it instead.

Instead of the pine boughs, on this card I used the bough punch (157711) to create Crumb Cake and Copper Clay leaves. This is ideal if you are in a hurry as punching is quicker than die-cutting!

This is the Christmas version of a Winterly Tree Tops card I showed earlier, with a lovely birch-design background from Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper, and bright red berries.

It’s based on this card... which I adapted from the Stampin’ Up!® original, stepping it up with a Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper background, some Birch embossing, and switching to a Copper Clay card base for consistency.

Both would work for Christmas, I think – with the relevant greeting.

I’ve used this Winterly Tree Tops design already at a WI class earlier in September, and they loved it. At the Autumn Craft Day, customers could choose to make this Christmas version...

... or swap the paper design and switch the die-cut pine sprigs for punched boughs and make this year-round version.

This is a non-Christmas version of a card I showed earlier, although one lady commented that she thought the colours worked well for Christmas too. I am inclined to agree as I love Pool Party and red for Christmas cards.

The Christmas version uses Garden Green and Shaded Spruce instead.

Here they are together. Both would work for Christmas if you wanted them to.

The centre piece from the die-cut frame was used as a mask to make these cards.

For the birthday card, I used Old Olive and Pool Party with a hint of Daffodil Delight. The birds are die-cut from Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper.

The Christmas version, which I showed previously, uses Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler. The birds are die-cut from Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper but I added extra colour using Stampin’ Blends to make them darker to fit with the theme of the card.

My customers love a notebook, so I was happy to oblige with this little A6 notepad which we covered using Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper.

I used Mini Alphabet Dies (162934) to spell out NOTES on the front. I love this die set as it does the whole alphabet in one go. Yes you’ll have letters you don’t use but it’s SO fast!

Finally, there was the option to make a 12x12 scrapbook page using the fabulous new two-tone cardstock in Pool Party (166691) along with other products from the Nests of Winter Suite.

This fabulous new 12x12 cardstock is also available in assorted packs so if you’re looking for Pool Party but only want a couple of sheets instead of 12 sheets the same, you’ll want the Snow Day collection (166492).

This page, very very heavily inspired by Canadian Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator Brenda Nelson, featured my gorgeous great-nephew, so I switched out the word “friend” from the Winterly Tree Tops greeting and changed it to “baby” from Cutest Onesie (163734). I love all our new scrapbooking products and am so excited that scrapbooking is firmly back on the menu for classes.
