Garden Goodness birthday card

In the recent stamp sale, I treated myself to the Garden Goodness stamp set... mainly so I could make this card for my daughter’s birthday.

I CASEd the idea from German demonstrator Jasmine Schulze, which made life easier! I love this stamp set and can't wait to get more time to create with it.

I stamped the image onto sticky notes to create a simple mask for the overlapping avocado effect. The greeting is heat embossed in white and cut out freehand for the fun on-trend look. Don't believe it's on-trend? Wait till you see the new Spring/Summer catalogue and Sale-a-Bration brochure!

When embossing in white, I always double up; I stamp in Whisper White and then use white embossing powder on top. Don't forget to use the embossing buddy first, to prevent any stray powder from sticking to your cardstock. 

Celebrations Duo embossing folders

This is a fun product which won’t break the bank: Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. They’re on p40 of the Spring/Summer catalogue, tucked away at the top. Two folders, one spells “Happy” (as you can see) and one spells “celebrate”.

I’ve combined it with Marquee Messages to create a simple and bright card for my teenage nephew (not an easy audience, I’m sure you’ll agree!).

What’s particularly fun about these folders is that they deboss rather than emboss, which makes a change and also allows for some fun techniques, such as stamping around the image to create an outlined word, just as the Stampin’ Up!® designers have done for this project shown on p41...

Glittery cupcake tag with Sprinkles of Life

Watch out, there’s glitter on this card! Now that’s not something you see very often at All Things Stampy! But somehow, this cute little tag was just crying out for a touch of glimmer, so I used Dazzling Details on the icing. 

This stamp set is going to be so popular because, as I’ve already mentioned, it’s really versatile. Here I’ve gone for a cupcake, cutting out the cake and candles myself, and using the punch for the icing. 

What about the dots? They were created with a pencil rubber used as a stamp. 

Am sulking a bit today because my parcel didn’t come. Am quite cross with UPS for changing their systems without telling anyone but am trying not to dwell on it. Am too busy to stamp at the moment anyway, so perhaps it’s a good thing. (Who am I trying to kid?)
