Four fab projects with Christmas Mice

Well, well, well... after all my dramatic announcements about leaving Stampin’ Up!®, here I am with a whole raft of SU projects to show you.

To be fairr, I did say it would be a gradual transition, and this class has been in the planning since August, so here goes.

We used two bundles on the day but I am focusing here on Christmas Mice. You can see all the other projects on my social media; some of which were posted a while ago during the planning stages.

One of my favourite projects of the day was this cute little box of three chocolate mice. I had the idea to make the mouse sleepy – and it’s easier than you think! All you have to do is mask off the eyes before stamping, then draw them back in with a fine black marker.

Other extra details on this project include making the window of the Scalloped Window Box larger by removing the window sheet and die-cutting with a circle die.

The pillow is hand drawn and cut out, and the striped paper with a strip of red is tucked under the mouse's arms to make it look like he is sleeping.

I added some foliage created with Frosted Pinecone dies and an old leaf punch and, for an extra festive detail, I dipped some of the sprigs in white embossing paste to look like snow.

Finally, the "berries" on the smaller punched sprigs are dotted with red Enamel Effects.

Inside, there are three chocolate mice from Hamiltons Chocolates, who were incredibly accommodating! They sent me exact measurements of the mice so I could ensure they fit in the box, then delayed my ordered to give the chocolate the longest shelf life possible. Yes of COURSE I tested a mouse (or three) – great chocolate, too!

My second murine make is this pop-up card which has been receiving a huge amount of attention on social media.

I have a tutorial available but unfortunately I didn’t make it clear that there is a small charge for this, so the number of comments has been off the scale. Sadly not even 10% of this attention has translated to sales but if you wish to purchase the tutorial, it’s still available for A4 cardstock and US cardstock here.

Next up is this gift tube. I sourced some kraft postal tubes from Eco-Craft because they make very cute gift packaging.

The tube is covered with A Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, then I made a matching tag by cutting out a mouse image to lay on that snowy panel. The tree is die-cut from Christmas Mice and again I added some red Enamel Effects, this time to create “baubles”.

It's finished off with some baker's twine, also from Eco-Craft.

Finally, there’s a simple project for a quicker fix. The tree background is a panel of paper from A Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, mounted onto some Lost Lagoon and Cherry Cobbler cardstock, on an Oat Fleck card from Eco-Craft.

The mouse is left white, with just the present coloured in using Stampin’ Blends.

The main thing to note here is that I used two separate stamp sets to create the greeting. I wanted the small type of “Wishing you a...” and “fun” but there wasn’t a small enough Christmas in the Christmas Mice set, so I turned to Woodland Wishes to find just what I needed in the same font at the same size. Result!

I hope you like my Christmas Mice projects. Remember, you can purchase the tutorial to make the pop-up card here.
