What kind of Christmas card maker are you? Do you focus on one Stampin’ Up!® stamp set or bundle and make them all the same?
Do you throw all your Stampin’ Up!® supplies at your cards and make lots of different cards?
Have you started already and have a firm plan? Or do you leave it to the last minute?
If you’re like me, the answer will probably be a combination. I relate to all of the above apart from the first one because I don’t like making cards all the same.
Even though it’s still summer, I have made some cards already... but I know I will still have a last-minute rush to ensure I have enough to send.
A last-minute rush will mean I need to keep things simple and I believe I have found the answer in the Joyful Days Memories & More Card Pack (165822) which features in the upcoming Stampin’ Up!® September to December Mini Catalogue and available from Tuesday 2nd September.
You get 54 Joyful Days cards in two sizes:
- 7.6 x 10.2 cm / 3" x 4: 6 each of 6 double-sided designs
- 10.2 x 15.2 cm / 4" x 6": 6 each of 3 double-sided designs
How to use Memories & More Cards
You can use Stampin’ Up!® Memories & More Cards in many, many ways.
They are originally designed for pocket scrapbooking, as pictured above. You can purchase Photo Pocket Pages (144205) which make scrapbooking an absolute breeze. Simply slide in your Memories & More Cards, along with your photos, and you have scrapbook pages in minutes.
The beauty of this type of scrapbooking is that it takes away the big scary 12x12 page. All you are doing is creating little works of art to slide into the sleeves. Or, at its simplest, just sliding in your choice of cards, journalling and photos.
You can also use Stampin’ Up!® Memories & More Cards to make cards! Your Christmas cardmaking will be so easy with these beautiful Joyful Days cards.
I made these cards during a relaxing Craft & Chat session the other evening. I wasn’t in the mood for complicated crafting so dug out some old cardmaking kits which I hadn’t completed.
There were lots of card bases and envelopes in there which worked well with a Christmas theme, so I spent the evening chatting and mounting Joyful Days Memories & More Cards onto card scraps in my favourite Stampin’ Up!® colours for Christmas – Cherry Cobbler, Real Red and Old Olive – before mounting them on the card bases.
This one has a little bit of retired Garden Green linen thread, but I kept rest even simpler than that.
The next day I completed my quick and easy Christmas cards by adding greetings using my new Traditional Labels bundle from the new Stampin’ Up!® September to December Mini Catalogue, and finished off with some (sadly now retired) Enamel Effects in red and white.
This old Evening Evergreen card base works beautifully with the Old Olive of the tree. A strip of a Memories & More card down the left gives it a little more interest, and it’s finished off with some red Enamel Effects.
I love the gentle greens of this one. These tree cards come in two sizes in the Joyful Days Memories & More Card pack. You can just see the white dots I’ve added using Enamel Effects.
This Joyful Days Memories & More card comes with greeting included. If you prefer something different you can always add a separate greeting on top.
I finished it off with some red Enamel Effects on the lovely red berries.
For a more traditional festive greeting use this Merry Christmas card. I love the painterly look of the evergreen foliage, and have added some red Enamel Effects to give a little bit of Christmas bling.
I hope you like my Joyful Days quick and easy Christmas cards and are inspired to make your own. These are great ideas even if you do leave it until the last minute as you can make beautiful cards in minutes.
