Two card ideas using new Stampin' Up!® Online Exclusive Happy Little Things

Stampin Up UK Online Exclusives

Today at Stampin’ Up!® we have a brand new collection of Online Exclusives going live!

There are products for the coffee-lover, for those who love big bright flowers, for nature-lovers, pet-lovers and those who make cards for children.

I was in need of some new sentiments so was thrilled to see two fabulous sentiment sets. One of them is called Happy Little Things and is really versatile.

I’ve used it here to create two fun cards for a celebration.

Happy Little Things is available as a bundle but if you’re a seasoned crafter with a full craft room, I’m going to be honest here and say you don’t really need the dies. It’s a tiny set of two label dies and you probably already have something similar.

Having said that, I did purchase the bundle and used it for both of these Stampin’ Up!® projects.

For my card bases I used the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and Envelopes. I don’t have the actual Memories & More Cards but I believe they’re arriving in my Stampin’ Up!® order today.

No matter, these card bases are fabulous as a standalone product, and provided the colour theme for both of my cards: Crushed Curry, Pecan Pie, Garden Green, Pretty Peacock and Calypso Coral.

My first card uses some of these colours with the addition of Pool Party. It’s heavily inspired by the card featured in the Stampin’ Up!® online store.

I began by die-cutting the labels in Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Pretty Peacock; I created two of each colour.

These are laid vertically on a white panel which I stamped using the tiny retro stars in Crushed Curry and Pool Party. This is stuck flat to the Calypso Coral Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card.

Next I stamped CELEBRATE using the outline stamp in Pretty Peacock, and again on top using the solid stamp in Pool Party.

Emulating the Stampin’ Up!® card design, I then used a Pretty Peacock marker to add tiny dots to the lettering.

I stamped “You did it!” in Pretty Peacock on Pool Party cardstock and yes I used an old punch to round the corners. This is all popped up on top to finish off the card.

The second card is heavily inspired by a card made by Australian Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator Rose Packer.

I changed the colours to fit the theme of the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and left off the flourish, party because I wanted to keep this card masculine (although the envelope is floral on the inside) but mainly because I couldn’t be bothered to walk to the craft room to fetch more supplies.

I stamped the CELEBRATE outline five times, in Pecan Pie, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Garden Green and Pretty Peacock. There are just a few stamped stars in Crushed Curry here and there.

Next I stamped “The little things” in Pretty Peacock on Crushed Curry cardstock. I cut this out using my trimmer to get it as close to the words as possible, then added this on top.

The whole white panel is popped up on Dimensionals, to add a little interest.

Both of these cards were pretty quick to create. If you wanted to make the first one quicker, you could use strips of scrap cardstock instead of die-cutting.

Now all I have to do is decide whether to send them out in the matching envelopes, or mix and match.
