The most popular Designer Series Paper in the current Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalogue is Perennial Lavender – and with good reason. This beautiful paper from the Perennial Lavender Suite coordinates with the Painted Lavender stamp set; another popular Mini catalogue product.
I’ve been crafting with these Stampin’ Up!® products recently and absolutely love the gorgeous purple tones and fabulous Kraft background. I LOVE kraft, especially with speckles in it.
This paper will form the basis for a Perennial Lavender online class I am running in April. This will be open to anyone in the UK.
My first card is heavily inspired by one made by US Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator Brian King. I wanted to use some Paper Butterfly accents as everyone attending my class will get a few of these in their kit.
I used a Gorgeous Grape cardstock as my accent layer, and added a strip of Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper to the top white layer.
Around the white and Gorgeous Grape layers is a strip of brand new Natural Polka Dot Trim, which is an Online Exclusive product which will be available to customers on 5th March. This is quite thick ribbon so I tied a bow around using Linen Thread, keeping the natural tones without adding extra bulk.
The main accent is a circle of kraft punched from Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper. On top of this I added two Paper Butterfly Accents which I coloured using Fresh Freesia and Gorgeous Grape ink, added with a sponge dauber.
The greeting comes from Notes of Nature. It’s all one stamp but I masked it to separate out of the lines and stamp the second half on Highland Heather cardstock.
The second card has a background completely covered in Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper. This time I stamped a bunch of lavender flowers in Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape using the Painted Lavender stamp set.
For some of the flowers, I inked up the stamp in Highland Heather and added a little of the darker ink around the edges using a sponge dauber before stamping.
The stems are stamped in Lost Lagoon and the join is covered with a Linen Thread bow, adhered using a tiny glue dot.
Now for the greeting. Isn’t this gorgeous? It’s from a brand new stamp set called Sweetly Scripted, which is an Online Exclusive available to customers from 5th March. All the greetings in this set are long and narrow, which makes them perfect for running across the whole width of a card, as I’ve done here, or you can trim them down as required.
I hope you like my Perennial Lavender and Painted Lavender projects and are inspired to make your own.
