Caturday: Mr Winky and the box that's too small
Mr Winky would like the people at the Stampin’ Up!® warehouse in Frankfurt to know that these new boxes are just too small! He can fit in, but there’s no way he can sit down properly, which vexes him. As the sole purpose of this household seems to be to make Mr Winky happy and comfortable, this box just had to go.

Bright & Beautiful star aperture card
I’m almost out of Christmas projects to show you… and in my mind I’ve already moved on to spring because today, the UPS man is bringing me my Spring/Summer catalogue pre-order! It’s very exciting, I have some lovely new stamp sets coming, as well as some very exciting Designer Series Paper (with LOTS of potential), and some gorgeous embellishments. I’ve planned strategically to prepare some samples for my All-Day Craftathon, which is in February. I’d love to have this event full of eager crafters, and you can secure your place with just a £5 deposit! All the details are here and if you have any questions, just email me!
Meanwhile, here’s a Christmas project that was marvellous in my head, but actually quite difficult to execute. The key is NOT to look at the back of this card, LOL!
Regular Big Shot users will probably have worked out the problem by now. To create the aperture in the front of the this card, I had to wrap the card, inside out, around the cutting plate. The extra pressure created by the additional sheet of cardstock in the “sandwich” resulted in the star shape also being embedding into the back of the card, too. Still, it made positioning the stamped image very easy!
This stamped star has been made 3D simply by scoring from each point to the opposite side. Then you gently fold the stars along the score lines, alternating between mountain and valley folds, to create the lovely 3D effect. The hardest part is sticking it down, but I built up the centre with Stampin' Dimensionals and stuck the points down with Tombow.
I didn’t have my Itty Bitty Accents star punch with my when I made this, so borrowed a friend’s old-style star, but I’m listing the new one in the ingredients for ease.

Autumnal card with Color Me Autumn DSP
After a busy weekend, I’m back with an autumnal card made with products from the Autumn/Winter catalogue. It’s very simple, letting the gorgeous DSP do all the work, with some help from these fab little wooden embellishments.

Saturday I spent all day with crafty friends. The morning was my team meeting, and it’s always nice to get together with friends from my downline. We made stars from the Many Merry Stars kit, talked about forthcoming products and enjoyed a very extensive fuddle. For those who don’t know what a fuddle is, it seems this is a local word and it is what some people would call a “bring and share”. Well we brought so much between us that we were sharing it all day and beyond!
In the afternoon I held a new style of event which I called Craft & Chill. This was a bit like a scrapbooking crop I suppose. I provided the room, the refreshments and a Make & Take, and guests had the option to purchase additional M&Ts if they wished, or create their own projects which they brought along with them.
Everyone said how much they enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and it gave people the perfect opportunity to finish off their Christmas cardmaking… and help make a dent in the rest of our fuddle!
We also made some stocking filler items for the cat shelter, which held a fundraising event the following day. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures of the cat and dog versions – what was I thinking?

Caturday - three for the price of one
Three kittens for the price of one today! Buddy (back left) and Tinka (back right) have been rehomed together and are still great pals. Tinka was renamed Elvis!
But the poor little Hitler kitten (as my daughter likes to call him) is still waiting for his new family to find him.
Cat shelter calendars are selling well around the world! Huge thanks go to one US blog reader who purchased four copies! I won’t name her on the off chance that one of her recipients is also a blog reader (long shot but stranger things have happened). They’ve gone off in the post today, so they should make it in time for Christmas.

CAS Festival of Trees Christmas
This is my version of a fab card I saw on Pinterest, created by Dutch demonstrator Angélique. I’ve seen other variants, too, but I think Angélique’s came first. One can never be sure in the crafting world!
As always, I adapted the idea to suit the supplies I had, and I’ve combined it with words from Endless Wishes and some cute little Candy Dots.

Simple thank you card with Endless Wishes
With very limited crafting space available, due to boiler issues, and a big batch of thank you cards to make for two workshop orders, I decided to keep things REALLY simple. I cleared myself a tiny space on the kitchen table and rustled up these little cards. It just shows that you can’t keep a crafter down!
