Do you want another Stampin’ Up!® Sneak Peek?
This versatile new Stampin’ Up!® stamp set is called Blooming Phrases (165523) and it goes live in the Online Exclusives collection on 6th May.
I really like my stamp sets to work hard for me and this one certainly does that with a variety of floral and leaf images, along with lots of great sentiments. What’s more, the long strands of the beautiful script double up as stems for the flowers. How clever is that?
For my first Blooming Phrases card, I made my own patterned paper in miniature by stamping all over this piece of white cardstock.
I used Stampin’ Up!® ink pads in a fresh and spring-like colour combination of Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Fresh Freesia and Petunia Pop.
I mounted this onto a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock which I stamped all over, this time using Lemon Lime Twist so it wasn’t quite as dark as it would be if I’d used Granny Apple Green. Yes, I could have used Versamark but I couldn’t be bothered to stand up.
The sentiment, “just because”, is stamped in Granny Apple Green on a strip of Basic White cardstock, with the leaves stamped in the same colour. I really love this feature of the Blooming Phrases stamp set; you can add flowers and leaves to the stems of the words, and they all fit perfectly.
Finally, I tied a piece of Natural Tones Linen Thread (164071) in green around the strip, to finish it off. This useful Linen Thread is retiring soon and you can snap it up at a bargain price of £6.80 for three spools; one each in Garden Green, Night of Navy and Copper Clay.
My second Blooming Phrases card goes back to my stamping roots, reusing an old favourite sketch featuring three circles.
On each punched circle (119850) I stamped a different type of flower. The one on the left is stamped in Petunia Pop, a Stampin’ Up!® In Color™. The middle flowers are stamped in Daffodil Delight. And the flowers on the right are stamped in Petunia Pop and Fresh Freesia.
I stamped the stems using a sentiment stamp from Blooming Phrases and, in a couple of cases, masked off the flowers before stamping, so the stem wouldn’t go across the front.
My favourites are the daisy-type flowers in the centre. To get these in two colours, I inked them in Daffodil Delight, then added some green to the middles using a Stampin’ Write marker. It’s important to use a water-based marker when inking stamps; alcohol markers will dry too fast and you won’t be able to stamp with them. Plus, they will stain your stamps.
The kraft card base is from a pack I found in my stash, which I have decided to use up. I love the look of Kraft, especially with natural images. I wrapped a good amount of Natural Tones Linen Thread around the card base, joining it behind one of the circles.
I finished off by tying some more green Linen Thread around the horizontal thread in a bow, and stamping one of the Blooming Phrases greetings in black ink at the bottom right of the kraft card front.
I hope you are as excited by the new Blooming Phrases Stampin’ Up!® stamp set as I am. Remember, this doesn’t go live until 6th May, and it will be an Online Exclusive, so you won’t find it in the new Annual Catalogue.
