Stampin Up UK Mini Catalogue

Are you ready for some brand new Stampin’ Up!® products? If so, I have great news: the new Stampin’ Up!® September-December Mini Catalogue goes live tomorrow (Wed 6th Sept) at 2am – and I have three projects to show you using the fabulous new Joy of Christmas Suite.

Joy of Christmas is a mega suite featuring two bundles, one of which is called Christmas Classics, which I’ve used here to create three very different Christmas cards.

My first Christmas Classics card was inspired by my September Mood Board. It’s a lovely festive vase of Christmassy foliage on a wooden background created using One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper (an online exclusive).

Each month I create a mood board to inspire my customers and Stampin’ Up!® team. The board can be used as a colour challenge, you can take inspiration from the images, or you can use a combination of the two as I’ve done here.

The colours on the September mood board are Wild Wheat, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry and the images draw heavily on autumnal themes – but I found these translated well into Christmas projects too.

I used two different wood-effect papers from One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper for my background, stamping directly onto the top piece in Early Espresso to create a hint of pine sprigs in Early Espresso.

In front of this I layered some foliage, die-cut using the Christmas Classics dies. Yes, I added a hint of Garden Green here but there are no rules against that with the mood board; remember it's just a jumping-off point.

The vase is made from Distressed Gold speciality paper. I did die-cut a square using the Christmas Classics dies but it was too wide, so I ended up trimming it down so a simple rectangle would do. I folded the sides under to create flaps, enabling me to curve the vase a little – not so much that it won’t fit in an envelope but just enough to give it some dimension.

I’ve also used some copper ribbon from a new Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo Pack

My second card has a cooler vibe and is heavily inspired by a project from page 38 of the new Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalogue. That project uses the Magical Meadow bundle which I love but don’t own, so I made my own version using the Christmas Classics bundle.

The whole of the background is covered with tree paper from the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper pack. I love this paper and haven’t used it much so I’m cramming now before I crack open all the fabulous new Designer Series Papers from the new Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalogue.

The main panel is stamped in Early Espresso stamped and then stamped off (on scrap paper first) and Wild Wheat, also stamped off to create a paler look.

The panel is mounted onto Cherry Cobbler, sticking with the same colour combo as before, and I’ve used that gorgeous copper ribbon again, with just a hint of Garden Green again on the holly leaves.

Finally, my third project is this Deck the Halls card, which really shows off one of the fabulous foliage dies from Christmas Classics. I was drawing inspiration from the red cloth in the centre photo from the mood board for the red background, echoing the autumn leaves from the same image with my distressed gold leafy border.

I’ve stamped Early Espresso sprigs on the background but that’s pretty much all. The rest of the detail is in the centre panel, stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Wild Wheat.

I hope you like my Christmas Classics projects using new Stampin’ Up!® products. Do you have a favourite?
