Mountain Adventure picture frame

It’s a glorious morning here in Derbyshire, and would be a perfect day for heading into (or at least near to) the mountains. I’d love to be in the Lake District right now, or the French Alps.

This is my version of the picture frame in the Autumn/Winter catalogue. I know I keep saying it but I do love this set, it’s really fun to use, even if you’re not into winter sports, as I clearly am not. I haven’t even inked the snowboard or skis stamps but the rest of it makes it more than worth getting. All those little trees – sized so you can create scale – and those beautiful mountains.

The mountains are painted with Tip Top Taupe ink watered down. It’s not ideal painting onto Whisper White cardstock; you have to be quick and not overload it with water. The snow is stamped onto the cardstock but I think SU may have embossed straight onto some acetate or similar for the catalogue sample, as their snow is more pronounced.
