Kinda Eclectic CASE with butterflies

I had to cancel this month’s Crafty Friday as I was still not feeling well but it made me realise that I’ve not yet shown you last month’s projects. 

We had a play with Kinda Eclectic, a really useful stamp set with endless possibilities. We decided to CASE a project by Canadian demonstrator Allison Okamitsu, which we all loved. 

We began by making a mask using a circle punch, then sponged inside the aperture using various blue inks. Then followed some stamping, stamping off, punching, scrunching and finally some pearls.

Cuddly Tinka

Tinka loves nothing more than a cuddle. Now that his (her? I’ve never looked!) brother has been rehomed, he loves to pile onto the sofa with all the other black and white kittens and keep warm. And if there’s a handy human to hand, he loves to snuggle up and purr extremely loudly.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately; as you probably guessed, I’m still not feeling 100%, which is now getting very boring after two weeks. It was only supposed to be a cold!
Anyway, having not stamped anything for ages, I’m relieved to say that there are still some projects waiting to appear, including this one, which didn’t make the cut for my Christmas Workshop the other week. I put it on display and it was really popular… but it was just a bit too complicated for a stamp-a-stack and I know my ladies don’t like to be rushed!

It’s based on the gorgeous framed picture on page 31 of the Autumn/Winter catalogue but I framed my image using the versatile Ovals Framelits. As you can’t tell from the picture, these are the layers, from the bottom up…

• Coastal Cabana card base
• White cardstock, masked with a piece of scrap paper and sponged using Soft Sky ink
• Car and tree stamped on white cardstock and cut out - as the stamp set is photopolymer, you can do this in one piece
• Window sheet, stamped using White Stazon
• Coastal Cabana card, with oval cut out
• Greeting

Homemade Holiday Christmas

This was one of the contenders for my Christmas workshop but, while I do love it (especially the colours!), I decided it was just too high-maintenance for a stamp-a-stack situation. Not to mention that I didn’t have enough of the same DSP to go round!

I created this card before I bought the Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities, so coloured the house with Blender Pens and ink pads. As you can see, it’s a softer effect and more prone to blotching (less prone in more skilled hands, I’m sure!)  I stamped the trees onto different designs of DSP and then cut them out.

Caturday: Tinka feels festive

Bloom with Hope gift voucher

I’m here at last! Slow start this morning as I’m taking it easy because I still feel really rough and – worse! – I have lost my voice. At least the kids are pleased. Have cancelled all plans for the weekend and going to ground. 

But before I go, here’s a card I made to hold a gift voucher which a customer ordered for her friend’s birthday. I was there to see her open it and could see how happy a Stampin’ Up!® gift voucher can make somebody! I can provide vouchers in any denomination (from £10, the card is free!). 

To create this project, I stuck the panels of In Color cardstock together first, then stamped on top, highlighting each flower with a swish of the chalk marker.

The greetings panel is made by sliding a strip of cardstock into a circle punch, so that only one end is shaped, then repeating at the opposite end. 

All very simple, but quite effective.
