There’s a whole new range of Stampin’ Up!® products launching today and I‘m very excited about this gorgeous Painterly Pears Suite.
So settle down for four pretty project ideas using this lovely new suite.
I was drawn to the Painterly Pears Suite (166159) because of the lovely rich dark greens of the Designer Series Paper. They have a beautiful vintage vibe which really appeals to me. But I also love the Perfectly Pears bundle (166154) so decided to go for the whole Suite, taking advantage of the June promotion and the demonstrator pre-order. (There are LOADS of perks to being a demonstrator – if you’re in the UK, please ask me for details!)
For my first Painterly Pears card, I’ve included another new(ish) Stampin’ Up!® product which I had somehow overlooked. Metallic Textures Rub-Ons (165270) are in the current Annual Catalogue but I only spotted them recently. They are a great way to add a hint of glamour without any bulky texture and I love them. I just need to learn to be a little more careful as I’ve made a couple of rookie errors.
I love the simplicity of this card and planned to send it to a stamping friend... but then messed up the back with some stray Wink of Stella!
For my next project, I decided to combine a project idea from the recent Creativity Now Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator event (another perk, see?) and apply it to the Painterly Pears Suite.
This card is made from a strip of 12" x 4" Designer Series Paper, scored to make a little pocket and tied closed with ribbon.
I used a retired Stampin’ Up!® embossing folder (Distressed Tile), a label die from the upcoming Peace on Earth bundle (Sept-Dec Mini 2025) and some glimmer paper from the Last Chance collection. This card is a true blend of old and new!
The stamp comes from With You In Mind (164747), an absolute must-have Stampin’ Up!® set in my opinion. I have used mine over and over again.
The finishing touch is the little pear image, stamped in black for the outline, then a blend of Old Olive and Darling Duckling for the centre. This is a two-step stamp, so you can stamp the bodies of the pears using a stamp which fits perfectly. There‘s no stamp for the centres of the leaves but that’s not a problem as they are easily coloured in using a blender pen and ink pads; I used Old Olive and Pecan Pie.
My third Perfectly Pears card uses another idea from the Creativity Now demonstrator event. UK Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Stacey Marsh demonstrated a technique where she made a shabby chic ombré background using a solid image stamp. I did the same using Darling Duckling ink and the solid pear stamp from Perfectly Pears. It gives you an interesting texture effect to the background.
I also added some tearing and distressing for good measure – I used to use these techniques all the time but they fell out of favour so I hope they are coming back into fashion!
I used two designs of Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper for this card; the dark green for the background and just a hint of pink to pick up the Petal Pink flowers. These are also painted Wink of Stella for a little sparkle. The ribbon is retired from my stash, to keep the Petal Pink theme going.
Finally, I have a simple card which is a great way of using up any Designer Series Paper scraps. I have of course used Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper on this project but you could use any DSP, or even mix up different packs.
It’s simply a case of laying down strips of varying lengths on a white card base, adding a greeting label on top, and finishing off with one or two (or even three) image elements. I also added a zig-zag of Mossy Meadow and Gold ribbon (166158) from the Painterly Pears Suite, for interest.
I hope you like my Perfectly Pears projects and consider adding this beautiful bundle, or even the whole suite, to your craft stash.
If you are in the UK and don’t already have a demonstrator, please consider shopping at my store.
