We have a new baby in the family! I am a great-aunt once again and it’s very exciting. No pinks for this baby girl so I made a lavender-themed card by combining two Stampin’ Up!® stamp sets.
I used the Cutest Onesie dies to create some pretty onesies from Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper, which has carried over into the current Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalogue. For the one on the left I used a floral pattern, positioning the butterfly where the breast pocket would usually go.
For the one behind, I used a Crumb Cake leaf design, then cut a separate pocket using the Cutest Onesie dies, brushing the edges slightly with Crumb Cake ink to make it stand out.
These Perennial Lavender onesies were the jumping-off point for the rest of my baby card design.
I wanted to have them hanging from a washing line, but vastly over-estimated the size of a standard card front and now have lots of leftover onesies! In the end, as you can see, I stuck with just two.
The main layer is watercolour paper painted with a wash of two Stampin’ Up!® inks, watered down; Balmy Blue wash at the top and just a hint of Shaded Spruce at the bottom. This provided a soft background for a hand-drawn washing line to hang those Cutest Onesie die-cuts out to dry.
Sticking with the Perennial Lavender theme, I stamped some lavender flowers using the Stampin’ Up!® Painted Lavender stamp set in Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and stamped-off Shaded Spruce. The smaller foliage is stamped in the same colours.
I think the scene creates the feeling a of warm summer’s day, with baby clothes hanging out to dry on their Pecan Pie coat hangers, also cut out using Cutest Onesie dies.
The greeting is two stamps from the Cutest Onesie stamp set. You have lots of options here, for baby boy cards, baby girl cards and generic baby cards. I cut this out using Countryside Corners dies.
The image layer is mounted onto Shaded Spruce cardstock and a layer of Basic White to make it stand out from the Highland Heather card base.
Inside the card, there's a simple Basic White layer with a Gorgeous Grape greeting and some cute little Shaded Spruce hearts, both from the Cutest Onesie set.
I hope you like my Cutest Onesie card, combined with Painted Lavender. If you are in the UK and would like to order either of these or any other Stampin’ Up!® supplies, please use the link below.
