Are you ready for a sneak peek? This fabulous new Stampin’ Up!® stamp set, Watercolor Melon, will be part of our Sale-a-Bration offering in January and February.
To get your hands on this fun new Watercolor Melon stamp set, just spend £45 and choose it as your FREE Sale-a-Bration gift.
Watercolor Melon is a Distinktive stamp set, which means the stamps have a clever texture which gives your images depth and dimension in a single step. The seeds are solid, so you can really make them pop out of the melon slices.
My first Watercolor Melon card is a birthday card featuring a watermelon (of course) with some slices and foliage.
I stamped the melon flesh in Melon Mambo. This was a new departure for me as Melon Mambo is one of my least favourite Stampin’ Up!® colours. But even I have to agree that it works well here. The seeds are stamped in Early Espresso.
A strip of Designer Series Paper from the new Perennial Lavender Suite provides the base, with a cut-out watermelon stamped in Garden Green. I fussy-cut this melon because I missed the fact that there's a coordinating punch. I have the Modern Oval punch now so Watercolor Melon cards will be easier in future. It’s the same shape as this melon image and can also be used to cut out the semi-circular slices, too.
To pick up the Shaded Spruce of the Designer Series Paper and card base, I stamped the foliage in Shaded Spruce. It’s useful to have a selection of greens in your collection, so you can create a more natural-looking scene.
For my second Watercolor Melon card, I used one of the triangle slices, which I fussy-cut – no punch this time. I laid these onto a panel cut with Radiating Stitches Dies (a Stampin’ Up!® Online Exclusive).
Again I used a strip of Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper to ground the image. To pick up this colour, this time I stamped the melon skin using Shaded Spruce.
Watercolor Melon is one of SIX Stampin’ Up!® stamp sets you can earn during Sale-a-Bration in January and February. There are also FIVE packs of Designer Series Paper available to earn, and a set of dies. Lots to choose from so plan your budget carefully.
There are amazing options available if you join Stampin’ Up!® during Sale-a-Bration too. Choose from the Stampin’ Glass Mat Studio, or add an extra £30 of product to your Starter Kit.
