I have a new stamp set and my mojo is back! The new Long Time No See stamp set is a Stampin’ Up!® Online Exclusive available to customers in July.
As soon as I saw this fun stamp set, my head was teeming with ideas and I’m excited to share some of them with you today.
PLUS I am offering a tutorial for one of the interactive cards for a very modest fee.
Long Time No See from Stampin’ Up!® features a dachshund, a llama, some fun accessories and words which can be used for birthday, Christmas and everyday cards.
It’s too warm outside for Christmas cards so I began my Long Time No See adventure with some bright summer colours.
First up is this exciting interactive slider card.
Pull on the dog's head (or feet) and it reveals a cute, punny message. I have always loved pop-up books and books with hidden elements, so I found it really fun to make this card.
Yes, there’s a glaring error which is really annoying me, but I'm choosing to ignore that. Maybe you haven’t even noticed that I accidentally mixed Summer Splash DSP with Emerald Envy? That’s what happens during evening craft sessions when the light isn’t strong enough!
This 2024-2026 In Color 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (163777) is now on the Stampin’ Up!® Last Chance List and, in the UK, reduced to just £3.52, so grab it while you can!
The tutorial to make this project is available here:
A4 version with metric measurements
US Letter version with imperial measurements
My second Long Time No See card uses the cute llama image. I love llamas, which is why I was so drawn to this fabulous stamp set.
For this card, I stamped two llama heads on white cardstock, then added the necks using the two different stamps provided. For the tall llama, I used what I call the “ladder” stamp, while the shorter llama has a cute scarf on.
I had this idea in my head very early on as I wanted to play with the idea of “high and low”. I use Mini Alphabet dies (162934) to create these words in Gorgeous Grape cardstock, although if you have some Stampin’ Write Markers and an eye for detail, you could also create the same words, albeit much smaller, using the “LOng time” and “sorry I’m a little beHInd” stamps from this Long Time No See stamp set.
I fussy-cut both llamas and laid them on some Country Woods 12"x12" Designer Series Paper (163393) which is subtle enough to allow the images to stand out but also has a tiny hint of yellow to pick up the colours of the scarves.
Next up is a simple trifold card, which gives the impression of an ordinary dachshund until you open it out to reveal the extra long body. As I said, I do love a surprise in a card.
For this card I used Lovely Garden 12"x"12" Designer Series Paper (165524) which I purchased as part of the Suite sale. In fact, I purchased the whole Suite and planned to use it but got sidetracked by long llamas and long dogs!
The die used here is from an upcoming set which will be released in the Stampin’ Up!® September to December Mini Catalogue, so let’s not think about that just yet. Any label die would do; this was just at the front of my stash.
For interest, I fussy-cut a couple of flowers from the Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper and wrapped some Natural Tones Linen Thread (164071) around the label. This gorgeous thread is currently on the Last Chance List and available at a reduced price of £5.95 for three spools in lovely regal shades.
Finally, I returned to the pull-out theme and played around with a different method of making a slider, this time to create some hidden rainbow cards.
I will be using these for Pride Month but you can use a rainbow for whatever meaning you prefer.
For these cards, I used the Kindest Expressions stamp set (161415) from Stampin’ Up!® This, too, is on the Last Chance list and now available at a bargain price of £9.20.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Long Time No See cards and are inspired to add this fun set to your wish list, ready for its launch in July. If you would like to purchase the tutorial for the first card shown here, you can do so here:
