Today sees the launch of a brand new Stampin’ Up!® collection of products called Fitting Florets and today I have two projects showing off the gorgeous new Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper.
These are the projects we are making at my Crafty Friday Zoom class this week, but I can’t wait any longer to show you as the paper is just so gorgeous. I’m not a floral person but even I love it!
What I particularly love about the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper is that you can use it for year-round projects as well as for Christmas as there is a good mix of designs.
The first project I have to show you is a fun fold, which is so simple and such a great way of showing off your Stampin’ Up!® Designer Series Paper that I can hardly believe I have never made one before. You simply cut a slit in your Designer Series Paper then fold back the pieces to reveal the pattern on the reverse.
As I don’t have the new Framed Florets bundle or stamp set (as I said, I’m not really a floral person), I fussy-cut the flowers out from the Designer Series Paper instead. While I don’t particularly enjoy fussy-cutting, I do find it a fantastic way to get a taste of images that I like. If I find that I really love them, then I can invest in the stamp set. It’s also a really great way of holding remote classes on Zoom as it keeps the price accessible for everyone.
Placing the flower element at the point of the cut-out V not only draws the eye but covers any messiness which may occur when cutting, so you don’t need to worry about getting it perfect.
I’ve laid my Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper onto Blushing Bride cardstock and added a tiny strip of Evening Evergreen cardstock to peep out from behind. At the left I have used Distressed Gold Speciality Paper; I’m a latecomer to this product and really love it. It picks up the yellow flowers perfectly, while adding a touch of glam.
The second card is simpler, although I do plan to step it up slightly at Friday’s class by embossing the white layer... not decided which embossing folder I’ll be using yet!
I have added some interest to this layer by spattering some Polished Pink and Blushing Bride ink across it; this is one of my favourite techniques as it’s so random that you can’t possibly sweat about it. You just have to go with the flow.
The flowers are quite fiddly to fussy-cut but you can trim off anything too spindly and replace with one of the chunkier leaves if you wish. Anything goes!
Now let’s take a look at the new Fitting Florets Collection and see what else is in it...
Early release product which will carry over into the next Mini Catalogue in January.
Available separately or as a bundle, the Framed Florets photopolymer stamp set and Framed Florets dies are delicate and elegant.
Framed & Festive stamp set

The Framed & Festive photopolymer stamp set features festive greetings and sentiments in beautiful fonts. This is a limited-time product which is only available while supplies last.
Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper
