Do you want to join the Zoo Crew? I cannot tell you how much I love these fun creatures on the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!® When I first saw the knitting llama, I actually laughed out loud.
You might not laugh out loud but you’ll certainly smile when you learn that this paper and many other designs are available at 15% off throughout June.
So many different hobbies and pastimes are represented in the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper that you’re sure to find one to suit you and all of your friends.
Knitting, walking, partying, bird-watching, ballet-dancing, yoga, playing the flute and all manner of instruments... you name it and your hobby is probably covered.
How about reading and roller-skating? These were the first two cards I made with this lovely Stampin’ Up!® Designer Series Paper and they were so simple to make. I used a Blending Brush to add some colour to the front of a Basic White note card.
Next I employed one of my favourite techniques; I flicked water at the blended area and waited for it to soak in. This creates a fun background with very little effort. My kinda cardmaking!
I’m not sure what this bird is? An emu? Ostrich? Anyway it’s having a fine ole time of it on its roller skates in front of a Berry Burst background. I added a simple “hello” to finish the card off.
The bear is having a quieter day, reading a book in a comfy chair. For this card I used the softer colour of Lost Lagoon as my background. Both cut-out animals are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
There are several things I love about the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper. One is that every single sheet features images you can cut out.
I love doing this when I am not sure I will get enough mileage out of a stamp set. Buying the paper instead means I can create dozens of projects using cut-out images, getting the variety I want in my craft stash without the larger investment.
Of course, if you discover – or already know – you will want to use the fun images over and over again, then you can add Stampin’ Up!'s Zany Zoo stamp set or Zany Zoo bundle to your collection.
Each sheet has a different theme; for example all of these animals came from a party-themed sheet.
This was a LOT of fussy-cutting but it makes for a really fun card. I used Lemon Lime Twist cardstock as my base, with Basic Black to really stand out.
The blending brush came out again for this card, too, to add a hint of Lemon Lime Twist to the white layer. This ended up brighter than the knitting so I coloured this in with Lemon Lime Twist too, using a Blender Pen and the lid of my ink pad.
All of the images are only lightly coloured, which means you can leave them as they are or add more colour if you wish.
Another thing I love about the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper is that the reverse designs are all black and white. You can see some of the designs on this card, where I’ve used strips to add interest to the background.
The black and white designs are perfect for adding colour if you wish, as I have done for this speedy little fox on his scooter. You can colour the paper in various ways:
đź’ˇStampin’ Blend alcohol markers
đź’ˇStampin’ Write markers (water-based)
đź’ˇInk pad with a Blender Pen
đź’ˇBlending Brush or sponge, or even a brayer.
I added Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party and Petal Pink to these patterns, to match the colours of the paper.
I hope you like my Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper projects. Don’t forget you have until 30th June to get this paper and many other designs at 15% off in the Stampin’ Up!® Designer Series Paper Sale.
