Happy New Year everyone! I hope you spent the evening doing exactly what you wanted to do, whether that was out partying, quietly at home or tucked up in bed.
Here’s your first Sale-a-Bration sneak peek from me, featuring a delicate floral stamp set called Flowering Fields. I made this card for my friend, and former downline, Judie - as she’s one of several stamping buddies of mine who has a Christmas birthday.
I took the photo outside on a sunny day, but it was a bit too bright (who’d have thought we’d be saying that at this time of year?) and the pearls have bleached white in the picture.
Die-cutting those circles was harder than I expected, probably because I didn’t measure anything and just went by eye, but it worked out ok in the end. I was hoping to make an aperture card so you could see through the vellum to the inside, but I was a bit too stressed out by then and simply layered a piece of DSP behind the vellum instead. This allows you to see the subtle white colouring of the flowers; I did this with a chalk marker on the reverse side of the vellum so that I wouldn’t cover up any of the finer details.
This stamp set is free with a £45 order during Sale-a-Bration, which runs from 5th January to 31st March. Every £45 order gets a freebie, no matter how much you spend, and there’s a wide variety of free products to choose from, including stamp sets, Designer Series Paper and Project Life goodies. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and I’ll be back with more information when the promotion begins.

Beautiful card, I love the colours you chose, gives it a real sense of spring, and the sunshine certainly helps to raise the mood! Quickie question, can we claim sale-a-brathon freebies with the purchase of the demonstrator starter kit?? Hope you are enjoying the first day of 2016, just been out for a walk here and just caught the first spots of rain!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it - I like to make my December birthday cards as spring-y and non-Christmassy as possible, as I think it must be no fun having your birthday overshadowed by Christmas. You can't claim SAB freebies on your Starter Kit but there are other benefits. I'll email you. :)
