It’s time for another Around the World Challenge – I do hope you’ll play along. I’d love to see a familiar name pop up in the challenge entry list!
The challenge this time (AW27) is to create a project using vellum, so I panicked and quickly ordered some. It was several weeks before I discovered that I already had an almost full pack! I know I’m not the first to have done that.
My project uses vellum in two very different ways. Can you spot them?
The obvious way is at the bottom of the card, where I’ve stamped on it using Whisper White craft ink. This continues inside the card to create a vellum liner.
The second use of vellum is less obvious but I’ve stamped two Santas on it… one on the front and one on the back, so that it shows through, reversing the image. If you use water-based ink, you can then colour it in using your Blendabilities on either side of the vellum. I’ve mounted it onto Whisper White so that you can see the images properly.
Vellum will make your images paler. The greeting I’ve stamped in Coastal Cabana, which is quite bright normally, but comes out more like Pool Party on vellum.
As for sticking it down, there’s a perennial problem. But I’ve found it works well to use Tombow adhesive, smearing it with my finger so that it’s barely there.
Now it’s your turn to have a go at the challenge! Take a look at the other Design Team creations here, then dig out your vellum!
